Erik is a young and brave knight of the Eternal Squadron. Sworn to protect the kingdom of Miaflore, he fights in the never ending war against the kingdom of Balora. With his brethren, he battles and bleeds on the frontlines. His colleagues see him as a great warrior, but he has grown tired of all the blood spilling and the senseless killing that comes natural to him. One day, after barely surviving an encounter against the enemy, he gets lost inside a mysterious forest. There he met the beautiful and exotic Auria, the mythical Daystar fairy. The acquaintance would change Erik’s life forever.
The Silver Sword and The Golden Rose Shield— Heirlooms left to Erik by his father. The Silver Sword is a light and well balanced blade, letting Erik use it with effective force. The Golden Rose Shield is a strong heater shield that displays the Belrose emblem on its face, a gold rose with crown-like petals and purple background. Both pieces of equipment have been in his family for generations.
Auria is a fairy of the legendary Daystars. She is peaceful and kind, but she is not like your typical fairy. Daystars are as big as a human, have crystal-like wings, and live on the high canopy of the Forest of Agony. Legend says that daystars can blind you with a look and scorch you with a touch. That they fly high and collect the excessive rays of the sun so that the world won’t burn to a crisp. One day, Auria was returning to her home on the trees when she discovered there a land dweller, a man from below. No land dweller was allowed entry to the Heights of the forest. Would she befriend him, or burn him to ash?
The Sear— Daystars collect rays from the sun, absorbing them from their wings. They then convert it to energy, coiling it through their arms and reaching the palm of their hands. They use this power to craft their homes, to cook, and to deal with enemies.
Angelus Vallias of Horne
Vallias is a commander in the Grand Army of Balora. He leads the army into miaflorian territory until a mysterious man of the north makes him an offer he can’t refuse. He would be gifted with the power to dominate kingdoms in exchange for only one thing, a Daystar fairy. Greed, ruthlessness and cunning mark him, and he will do anything to obtain what he wants. But, who is this mysterious man of the north? And what is that power?
Cinquedea and hard plied armor— Vallias wields a cinquedea, a sword that is wide at the hilt and ends with a sharp, rounded tip. And he does not use a shield for his armor his as strong as rocks. Plied again and again and again, no sword can pierce it.
Radian is the strongest of the Daystar fairies. Fierce and strict, he does not feel any compassion for land dwellers like Erik. When Auria is nowhere to be found, he blames Erik for her disappearance and attacks him in blind rage.
Angus and Dorian
Angus and Dorian are Vallias’ bodyguards. One with long red hair, and the other bald with a full beard, they are big, strong, and always at Vallias’ side. But although they are loyal and obey their master, honor might lead one of them astray.
Bri is a young Daystar fairy that decided to live as a hermit in the dark bottom of the woods of the Forest of Agony. He does so out of shame and fear of his people. Not seeing the sun for a long time, his skin has grown pale; and his body, weak. However, he is the one that helps Erik to find Auria, by telling him who was responsible for her disappearance.
Ray is the son of Baron Gregor Tolbert, and is Erik’s best friend. After his father dies in battle, he steps up as the new Baron and takes the fight to the frontlines. In a time of need, Erik helps him and his men retake the lands that belong to Miaflore.
